Pretty packed commentary with some very interesting and smart people. All of the guys are recorded separately, but the smooth editing makes the track an easy listen. The audio during the first minute or so is kinda off, but it quickly gets better. There's no dead air.

Nispel is the predominant force here, followed by Fuller, Form and Bay. Let's break it down:

Nispel: he takes you on a journey of how he got involved with the movie, why he accepted the offer (while ignoring offers to direct $100 million blockbusters) and talks a lot about his own experiences while working on the picture, while promoting it and during its successful theatrical run. It's a great listen and you really get to know him as a filmmaker.

Bay: always a pleasure to listen to a Bay commentary. On this one he only pops for brief periods of time, but nonetheless he delivers some very interesting tidbits about the project, its success at the box office, the actors, the creation of Platinum Dunes, his working relationships with Nispel, Form, Fuller and Stan Winston, and his love for horror films. Cool stuff.

Andrew Form and Brad Fuller: kinda like their "Amityville Horror" commentary they try to cover pretty much all aspects of the production. Casting, locations, budget, choosing a director, improv on the set, promotion, and release. And considering the time they have they do a good job at it.

Robert Shaye: he's on the track for only a few minutes. His main focus is the approach New Line Cinema took towards the project and his relationship with the filmmaking team behind it. Nothing groundbreaking, just a few interesting comments.

Overall, an enjoyable listen and a track that, for sure, will satisfy those who enjoyed the movie.

Not a bad technical commentary for what the film is. Mostly on sound. I think Daniel Pearl comes on about 3 times, the third time is the most lengthy at the end when he just talks about cinematography and touches on the original versus the remake. Jablonsky talks about how he approached the music to be in a way 'timeless' - to inject the feeling of the wood and stones into the music. They talk about how they did the gunshot scene as well. Marcus Nispel also talks about differences between commercial and film. It's a commentary that would mostly appeal to filmmakers or cineaphiles as any technical commentary would.
