It's good to see the creators of Mission Hill, Jon Lovitz, and Conan are doing commentary on this DVD.

The "hidden" commentary on MARGE VS. THE MONORAIL, also accessible via the audio button during playback, is a bit of a washout. The writers and producers are in L.A., while Conan O'Brien is in New York recording simultaneously. There's actually more information regarding this classic episode - and O-Brien - in the NON-O'Brien track! This track instead becomes overweighted with self-referential humour and wink-wink mock-insults that are unlikely to elicit much reaction from the listener. Easily avoidable.

After several commentaries featuring cast members on Season 3, only one commentary inludes a cast member (Hank Azaria) on 4. And he ends up being overshadowed by guest star Jon Lovitz, who keeps pluggin the new "The Critic" dvd set. (Gee, I wonder why he was included?) But, on the positive, Conan O'Brian (one of the funniest men alive) participates in the commentaries for the two episodes he wrote that season ("New Kid On the Block" and "Marge Vs. the Monorail"). Other than that, more of the same (and that's a good thing).

Very interesting commentaries from the staff of The Simpsons as always. Al Jean and Mike Reiss are a very fun pair to listen to.
