SLow and pretentious. Don't waste your time.

It is really hard to rate a commentary sometimes. I wanted Lyne to talk more about why he put the camera where he did and about the editing of the film. He talks about where he got the idea for this or that effect and every once in a while discusses style (mainly the parallel cutting that turns up a good deal in the film). He makes a nice point about the match dissolve of the communter trains (first Diane Lane gets off her train--dissolve--then Richard Gere gets off his), but for a movie that makes so many of its points visually, the commentary could dwell even more on the style and his artisic choices.
Commentary 2: Actors Diane Lane and Olivier Martinez Rating:4.0/10 (3 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review
