Even-toned but predictable commentary from the robotically upbeat Stepford Artists at Pixar (just watch the supplements to see them in their hermetically-sealed environment). What generally feels like a background-heavy track, however, reveals its true colours as an amiable back-patting session as one realizes the anecdotes offered repeat very obvious points about the film's thematic reversals ("Monsters are afraid of kids! Ingenious!) and the filmmakers' artistic mantras ("Story, story, story!, Details, details, details) ad infinitum. It's clear this track was recorded before the film's theatrical release. On the plus side, the particpants are able to point out at least some of their in-jokes and film references, and freely expose liberties taken with the material (Randall's "blending" routine only working for the "camera," Boo's giggles not always causing power surges). Overall, an average listen for newcomers, less so for those who've sat through similar tracks for other Pixar films.
