If you own this video you absolutely MUST hear this commentary. I thought the guys that made this movie were creative/comedic geniuses. I thought it took an amazing talent to think up stuff like this, so incredibly inane and pointless ... I was wrong.
After listening to this commentary I relaized this movie is simply auto-biographical. The comentary is so dumb its funny. Just like the movie.

A good commentary. Jared talks about scene in the movie which was based on incidents in his life. They talk about the characters and the short film "Peluca" that this movie is based on.

"Napoleon Dynamite" is the kind of movie that's you either think is so stupid that it's good OR that it's so stupid it's bad. I'm in the former category. :) It had been a while since I had seen it, so I decided to rewatch it prior to listening to the commentaries.
The filmmakers share a lot of insight into the movie, which as redundantman above me said, reveals that a lot of the movie is based on real life events and stories from their lives.
As for the second commentary - which doesn't seem to have an entry here - it's with actors Jon Gries, Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez and Tina Majorino. This is a surprisingly lively commentary, with all of the actors interacting with each other, sharing stories, asking questions, pointing out details. One of the few commentaries where you, as the listener, feel like you're part of the gang, as it were.
If you're a fan of the movie, I recommend these commentaries.
