I didn't enjoy the commentary for the first Shrek very much so I wasn't really looking forward to this one. I was pleasantly surprised, however, to find a pleasant, informative com-track where the two commentators complement each other perfectly, working in unison rather than endlessly talking over and interrupting each other which seems to be the norm in most commentaries.

They reveal a lot about how the film changed during the production and how individual scenes went through different gestations before they settled on the present version as well as discussing the reasons for the changes. This is nothing unusual in commentaries but Asbury and Vernon manages to keep it interesting throughout the commentary, which is true of the commentary as a whole. Recommended.
Commentary 2: Producer Aron Warner and editor Mike Andrews Rating:5.0/10 (2 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

This commentary starts off with the two talkers promising a detailed discussion of the film, something they fail in providing. Rather, their topics are quite shallow and uninteresting for the most time, with a few moderately entertaining tidbits provided now and then.

I'd recommend the other commentary on the dvd for a really detailed and entertaining track.
