Ron Moore and David Eick are sharp invidivuals who knew what they were talking about on this commentary. This commentary often got quite political with many comments about current social and political topics but that was to be expected.

I liked the fact that Moore spoke a lot about the characters and what their motivations were and why they were written to be a certain way. There were some technical aspects of the film that were discussed such as the CGI and sets but for the most part, this commentary was heavy on explaining the characters and story.

It is hard to tell if they recorded this particular commentary after or before they did commentary tracks for the individual episodes this is based on, but I think afterwards, because it feels like they want to talk about the series as a whole. Which is actually good, although the focus seems to be on the big ideas rather than the individual moments we see on the screen.
