The Farrellys don’t see many movies as they mistakenly claim that this the first film in which Barrymore plays a full-grown woman. Obviously, they haven’t seen Riding in Cars with Boys. As with previous tracks for their other movies, the Farrellys spend the bulk of their time pointing out who everyone is, including their friends who were extras in the movie. While that’s nice, it makes for a boring commentary.

I concur with the cubist that there are way too many instances with them pointing out people they know throughout the commentary. Very uninteresting. There are also a few to many moments with silent pauses. And the worst parts in the commentary are when a silent pause is interrupted by them telling us who a specific background person is then they go back to being silent again. Their story about the guy who got hurt in the football game was pretty funny though.
Otherwise it's pretty much a standard commentary with them gushing over their lead actors and some other crew members.
I found the most interesting parts to be when they talked about this being the first time they weren't involved with one of their films from scratch. They didn't write the script and were hired to direct quite late in the game and they talk a little about that but I would've liked to hear even more.
It was also interesting hearing them talk about filming the baseball scenes and the complications that came with the Red Sox actually winning that season.
