A disappointment. Most of the information in the commentary is simply repetition - often almost verbatim - of that in the documentary, and Lehman is not the most energetic of speakers. It's good that they used one of the last-surviving participants but his comments would have been better interweaved with those of a Hitchcock specialist. The isolated score track just about makes up for it, though.

Ernest Lehman, here about five years before his death, very likable and nice but sounding rather frail and not quite sure what he's supposed to say, records a track that's actually a collection of disjointed anecdotes with a lot of narration in between. Martin Landau, who did a wonderful participation in the commentary for Cleopatra, would certainly have been a much better choice.
