This is a breezy and insightful commentary from the director and star. I was most fascinated to learn that "the Contender" was an independent film before Dreamworks came along to help distribute it. Lurie provides many anecdotes of Steven Spielberg's involvement with the picture. Allen is very genial and warm throughout the commentary. There is some extensive back-patting going on here, but Lurie makes up for it by addressing many of the controversies surrounding his film. 6/10
