Reginald Hudlin wanted to display a side of Eddie Murphy we never saw. It is evident in this commentary that he saw potential in his film to do just that. There are great stories about Chris Rock, Tisha Campbell, and Martin lawrence to be found here. No secrets here, but the origin of their relationship on "Martin" is revealed. Hudlin disses the critics who thought his protrayal of Black professionals was indeed "Science Fiction." Shout outs to family members and old friends are ever present as well. A solid listen to accompany a solid flick.
