Writer/director Mike Mills (no - not the REM bassist) does a great job articulating his intended vision (without saying TOO much) and describing the way he worked together with the cast and crew to create a unique and unified finished product. Mills is clearly a highly intelligent creative force, and I greatly enjoyed the self-effacing and casual way with which he asked and pondered some great questions about art, described his work with the cast very generously and even struggled with trying to not cross a line that might reveal too much of his directorial hand and thus dampen our own more personal interpretations of what he was trying to convey. All in all, a superb commentary - it's like having a pleasant dinner with a gifted and affable conversationalist. Highly recommended.
