Jim Isaac (RIP) and Todd Farmer have a very comfortable, and often hilarious. rapport. One exchange: Farmer: "I did more re-writes on this film than I will for the next 10 years." Isaac: "That's because your career is over." Two friends volley barbs while the Director covers every aspect of creating "Jason X." All of the technical work, especially early work with utilizing a "digital intermediate," is explained. The film's troubled distribution is handled, and the duo carry on with a general discussion about horror films, and the expectations/limitations within the "slasher" sub-genre. Noel Cunningham contributes as well, but appears to be recorded separately. His commentary explains his own history with the franchise (Son of Sean S.), and explains some of the technical issues like color correction and the film's origin. All in all, a satisfying commentary. A fine mix of information, humor, and a self-deprecating tone that puts the "Jason X" track in good company with the classic "Jason Goes to Hell" commentary. 9/10
