Nelson is a good comedy writer, as seen in the MST3K series, but as a moderator he is less successful. He never had the sardonic performance edge that Joel Hodgson had in that series. The commentary track for LITTLE SHOP is certainly a nice bonus (as it was for the colorized edition of HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL), for a pretty gorgeous transfer (finally), but it is spare and only intermittently funny. There are a few MST3K-like comments that had me laughing out loud, but without his pair of robots to fill in the many extended gaps, there is little momentum. But, as they say, better than nuthin'.
