Hard Candy has been one of my favorite indie films since the moment I saw it at the Washington, DC film festival in spring of 2006. Listening to this commentary track I was pleasantly surprised. Slade and Nelson are recorded together and they are very energetic, they have great rapport together and seem like good pals. It's very scene-specific, so you have insights into basically everything, beginning from opening titles to the very last scene. Slade talks about a variety of subjects, from visual decisions to his editor "breaking rules" due to limited budget, to music choice or lack thereof. While Nelson also chips in, and provides some information on writing the script, as well as some various tidbits. Overall, it's a decent chat track, definitely insightful on the behind the scenes aspect, and in general very easy to listen to. You won't be bored with these two.
Actors Patrick Wilson and Ellen Page.

This is one of my favorite commentary tracks. Ellen and Patrick give a lot of info about making the movie and give their thoughts on the film. And are surprisingly funny at times. Highly recommended.

A surprisingly funny commentary considering the subject matter, very much like the film itself. It is obvious Ellen and Patrick get along very well and that chemistry is evident not just onscreen, but how they talk to each other, especially when they debate who truly is the bad guy in the film. An entertaining track for a very dark film.
