This commentary would have been better if screenwriter Jonathan Betuel or any of the cast members who were alive at the time (i.e. Lance Gust ["Alex"] or Catherine Mary Stewart ["Maggie"]) were involved. But, given what they had to work with, director Nick Castle and production designer Ron Cobb did a good job. Here's hoping the forthcoming HD-DVD release of "The Last Starfighter" has a better commentary than this one.
