"Sports Fans" are actually treated to 2 Separate commentaries for "Not of This Earth" (1988). The first commentary pairs director Wynorski with one of the male leads (Lenny Juliano) and was included in the earlier Concorde release. Recorded around 2001, this is the more "tech-heavy" commentary. If indeed "technical" has ever described a project from Captain "Pop-A-Top" himself, I have my doubts. Jim Wynorski helpfully points out the numerous reels of "Stock Footage" he integrated into this Sci-Fi remake. As expected, loads of footage from Roger Corman's library of films are included. Juliano is an able accomplice to Jim, gleefully relaying his enthusiasm upon learning he would co-star with Traci Lords. The tale about future "Blind Date" host Roger Lodge's destruction of Wynorski's prized car is worth the price of admission. Great stories abound, many devoted to Miss Lords and the media's obsession with the starlet that hampered the short shoot. The first track rates a solid 8 out of 10.

The second running commentary finds Jim Wynorski reunited with his incandescent ingenue after more than 20 years. The proceedings are very genial with the first half devoted to pleasantries and "catching up." Refreshing to hear Wynorski's regret from being unable to cast Traci in his future films, such as "Haunting of Morella," and "Return of the Swamp Thing." Although not as focused as the first commentary, Jim does a fine job of playing "moderator;" gamely probing (sorry) Miss Lords with questions about her life and career. All the while informing the listener about "Not of this Earth," including information on shooting locales, actors, and production trivia any devotee of low-budget filmmaking can appreciate. Another Solid track. 8/10
