They talk about the challenge of shooting in the wilds of Canada. It was Spring when they started but the temperature was very cold. Frank isn’t afraid to point out the mistakes he made as a first-time director. With Kivilo, their comments tend to be about filmmaking techniques like the cameras they used, the type of shots for a given scene and locations used. This could come across as kind of dull if you’re not into the technical aspects of film.

Not terrible, but still mostly boring. I was surprised by how they only talk about the technical through the whole thing, considering most writers tend to talk about the story, the back stories, the history, what their influences were. Nope. Only at one point, for about a half minute, about 15 minutes before the film ends do they mention the story itself. I can probably count on one hand how often they talk about the actors, which again is a surprise considering the challenge for some of the performances.
