Great commentary by Mr. Roth, who is informative, humorous and gives you a different presepective on this misunderstood film. More intresting is how he used Italian-Horror/Gallio as inspiration for this film and it really shows. Give it a listen!
Commentary 2: Screenwriter/director Eli Roth, executive producer Quentin Tarantino, and associate producer Gabriel Roth Rating:7.4/10 (5 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

Roth knows how to make entertaining track's, that's for sure, but this one is interesting because it was recorded right before the film came out and subsequently flopped. It's interesting to listen to Roth's stories (which are somewhat repeated in the other tracks), but coming off a hit with the first film, it's worth listening to Roth who has no idea his film is going to flop. Not many films that flop get an immediate commentary on it's first release.

You know you're in for a treat when 2 film fanatics are in a room together. They were made for each other. They're biscaly brothers. They talk non stop about movies.

Quentin mentions how he had prints of Rocky 1 and 2 and cut out the end credits of Rocky 1 and replaces with Rocky 2 from start to finish as if both film were one long feature.

Q also tells a funny story about decapitation scene in Kill Bill Vol 1.

A nice fun track. Similar to Q's commentary on Hot Fuzz.

Roth appears less illiterate than he's known to be on this track, but by some law of inverse operations, Tarantino in turn becomes less articulate and comes across as some kind of giggling lackey. QT is more interesting when he talks about other films (he's quick to mention a number of his own), Roth doesn't help credence much by pointing out how subtle the pic is (god knows that horror fans like their torture porn to be "subtle"), but the major failing point of the commentary is that they talk about this film as if it were CITIZEN KANE with no hint of how it was universally panned and tanked at the box office.
Commentary 3: Screenwriter/director Eli Roth and actors Lauren German, Vera Jordanova, and Richard Burgi Rating:7.5/10 (2 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

A nice chat with Eli and the ladies. The reason why he made this film. Vera talks about acting in her first film and how her nipples in her nude scene were CG. Vera had pasties on because Eli didn't want her to be uncomfortable.

Richard doesn't come in till later on in the track and he and Lauren take the piss out of each other.

They tell the story about how Roger Bart met some dumb American girls and later they said to Roger "Later, Housewives." Which was what the crew called Roger in the shoot. They explained that Roger would appear on stage in the Young Frankenstein Broadway show.

A fun track.
