Anderson is also the screenwriter for the film. She is scene-specific though pauses a few times in her commentary. She comments on score and source music, the title sequence and visual cues, the use of archival footage, the device of having characters talk to the camera to replace narration, casting, character, her producers, the film's production history, FX, fictional additions to the screenplay for dramatic effect, costumes, camerawork and lighting.
Commentary 2: Actor Julianne Moore Rating:5.7/10 (3 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

Moore stays very close to the life of her character during the commentary. Therefore it's really only worth listening to this track if you love the story and want to learn more.

I found this commentary a nice addition to the one by Jane Anderson. Moore naturally comments on her own character and the challenge of portraying a real person, working with her co-stars and 22 children, and costumes and hair. However she also talks about locations/sets, a cut scene, working on a low budget film, lighting and camerawork, and period detail. She uses the phrase "magic realism" to describe the film's tone, and explains the techniques used to film the scene where she falls with milk bottles. Moore is mostly scene-specific though she occasionally pauses.
