I write this review a bit wistfully, because Maximum Movie Mode hearkens back to the late 2000s when studios were pouring money into the blu-ray format and often including content such as this. Enough digression. This is an excellent enhancement to the viewing experience. As with most picture-in-picture tracks, there are gaps scattered here and there, but this one runs fairly consistentely throughout the 3 hour running time. Best is when director Zack Snyder steps in for a side-by-side comparison of the finished product and some of work involved in creating it. There are also worthwhile talking head moments from the actors, the DOP, editor, production designers and stunt coordinators. Storyboard and graphic novel cells appear at times and even a timeline comparing what is transpiring in the real world at the time of the events being depicted in the Watchmen alternate reality. This latter feature is a bit of a stretch at times but I appreciate the effort. All in all, I highly recommend enabling this feature to watch the film.
