A great commentary track with plenty of humor, but also plenty of nitty gritty, really great stuff. A great movie too.

Put four sequence directors in a room together to talk about a movie and they will provide an informative commentary. They dissect each sequence, noting who supervised the animation, among other roles, crediting ideas and names throughout the track. Two animation studios worked on this film and while each had certain responsibilities, there was seamless collaboration. They point out pop culture references as they appear, and some Easter eggs. Some of the comments and feedbacks from screenings for test audiences are shared. The Spider-pig was enormously popular for test audiences and the musical beat with the choir was something that Hans Zimmer did as a lark during a scoring session. To address the question of how working on the film differed from the series, they reveal that the film was a much more dynamic process, with scenes and ideas constantly evolving and changing while the episodes tend to be more static, from script to the finish. The film also incorporated 3d elements to complement the traditional 2d animation.
