A decent commentary by Chechnik. If you peruse the IMDB page for "Benny & Joon," you will find the majority of the interesting trivia and tidbits revealed in this commentary. There are some additional stories about Johnny Depp's stunt training and the locales the production team searched out for the film.
Much of the talk is a defense to the portrayal of Mary Stuart Masterson's 'Joon'. Although her performance is really an amalgam of many overlapping psychiatric illnesses, her performance is pretty solid. The director enumerates the depths she traveled to achieve a believable performance. I would rate it a 4/10, and a 6/10 if you are a Johnny Depp fan. And really, who isn't?
