There were a lot of long pauses by the director in the commentary. I was really waiting for the director to talk a lot about the end of the movie and give a lot of insight into it and he barely talked the last 15 minute of the movie.

Great movie, but skip the commentary. Lyne is not an interesting speaker, he stays quiet for long periods of time, and he doesn't offer much information that can't be found on the Internet Movie Database.

He has interesting things to say, but agree with the others, he pauses frequently and this is especially disappointing in the final act when he could be talking about reasons and choices with the structure of the film and themes and ideals behind the film. I always wonder if a filmmakers constant pauses can be put down to: over zealous editors, distraction watching the film again or just not having enough to say to justify commentary in the first place? Just thinking out loud here. A shame, if you listen at the moment when the son leads the father up the stairs it could have been a much much better commentary. 6/10
