Director Burr starts by commemorating all of the cast and crew who have passed in the 25 plus years since he made his first full-length feature. An enormous amount of pride is evident as Burr regales the listener with all manner of production stories and actor-related anecdotes. Filmed in his hometown of Dalton, Georgia, as well as across the border in Tennessee, "From A Whisper To A Scream" was, and remains, a passionate subject to Jeff. That said, the director does point out some technical aspects he would have liked to done differently, such as the gore sequences and slapdash nature of the props. The majority of the commentary is filled with an appreciation for the people who helped him get the film made, especially the coterie of veteran actors in his employ. As he reveals, the true euphemism for an "asshole" is to be called "a force of nature." Just try to guess which actor received that particular term of endearment. All 4 segements are given equal due, from the most minute details to the specific carpet wherehouse a set was built. To hear the fantastic Vincent Price story, well that's to be covered in the "Bonus Material," such an ordeal that turned into. Replete with Jeff's own homespun witicisms, this track paints a vivid picture of a region's first independent motion picture. Terrific Stuff. 9.5/10
