This commentary was on the 2011 U.S. DVD special edition release and then as a picture in picture commentary on the bluray. Not sure why they bothered with the PIP aspect though, I guess they had the footage and it would be a selling point/incentive for people to re-buy? All it seems to be is an extended interview. This is a terrific track though, Lucas has always been a fairly honest speaker and here he is remarkably candid about himself, this film and his career in general. In fact the commentary has a terrific balance between general reminiscing (he comes across as very prepared) and screen specificity. Probably unavoidably he covers a lot of ground also in the feature length documentary, but he does go much deeper with his own personal analysis, talking a lot about the cast and the casting process, the practicalities of the San Rafael location shooting, his writing process and how the film came about. He obviously also talks about many of his favorite proclivities such as sound design and montage. 8/10
