The sound mix only makes the commentary slightly louder than the film here and since the film is so compelling it is sometimes an effort to listen. Amiel is scene-specific though he does pause. He comments on score and source music, camerawork and lighting, casting and performance, locations/sets, character, script changes, and a cut scene of the serial killer as a child. More interesting notes are on the presentation of police as morally superior to the killer, adding comedy to the tone, creating false expectations, making choices about presenting violence, and Amiel using his own fears to gauge what is scary for the thriller genre.

I enjoyed it partly because it allowed to watch the movie at the same time but Amiel offers an informative feature-length track and shares his directorial perspective.
