Meir Zachi spends the entire commentary tring to justify this film. He wants to convince you that this film was a pro woman anti-rape film and uses all kinds of twisted logic to convince you. I hope he was just kidding but somehow I don't think so.
Commentary 2: Cult film guru Joe Bob Briggs Rating:7.8/10 (15 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

The concept of having drive-in movie critic Joe-Bob Briggs provide audio commentary probably reads like a B-movie fanatic's dream come true, and indeed, he provides some measure of humour in his track for Meir Zarchi's mysogyny-mascarading-as-feminine-empowerment screed, but for the most part, he provides all the enlightenment (production details, release controversy) up front, then proceeds to simply narrate the rather obvious on-screen action and make middling-to-poor quality cheapshots about the characters which practically write themselves in a film populated with backwoods slackjaws such as those featured here. If you expect less than you get in one of Briggs' expertly tailored trailer-trash newspaper columns, you'll be okay pretending the man has joined you in your living room for the festivities. Otherwise, there's not much to recommend this outside of the novelty value.

Joe Bob Briggs, this was his first commentary. Some consider this his best but out of his first 3 commentaries,I say this is his worst(tho still good). He has 12 commentaries tho only 6 are listed on this website. He is really funny, and is in love with film.Tho I can't agree with his comment "This is one of the most underrated movies of all time" as it is sickening to watch. But the commentary is Recommended, the movie is NOT.

When I showed this film to my girlfriend I did so with the commentary on. It offers justification for the film as a feminist statemnet. Joe Bob is also funny. Many people hate this film - I think it would be hard to after listening to this commentary- I think this is Joe Bob's best commentary - for one thing he truly loves this film and it shows.

Yes, this film is pretty sick. However, I can see how this movie could be considered a feminist film. One thing is certain, Joe Briggs gives us one of the most entertaining, funny, and thoughful commentary tracks I have heard in a long time. He obviously respects the film, and it shows with his comments and knowledge. To me, this track reminded me of what MST3K would be if done by Hank Hill (whom Mr Briggs reminds me of). It's rare to get a solid track on a horror film these days it seems, but this one is a must listen. Highly recommended!

Here is another example of a terrible film having a great commentary track. After hearing the track the first time, if I ever pull this film off the shelf, I watch it with this track on. Insightful and very, VERY funny, it makes the ordeal of the rape scenes just a little easier to sit through. Best bit: Briggs laughing at the really bad special effect of the axe in the poor guy's back right at the end of the film. Classic.

Whatever you might think about this film (or think you think about it if you can't bring yourself to watch it), Briggs' commentary is essential listening. He brings his usual mix of information and humor. He also brings rationality and common sense to discussion of a film which most people react to purely emotionally. He even remembers that it's a movie - most people are so caught up in debating the message that they never even think about whether or not the acting and directing are any good. It's unfortunate that at least one person on this site chose to punish this track for being associated with a movie they disapprove of. No one who actually listened to Briggs' commentary could possibly rate it zero.

One of the best commentaries ever! Joe Bob Briggs is hilariously funny and most informative at the same time.
