Commentaries on this disc:

Commentary 1: "How to Fire a Rifle Without Really Trying" -- Co-creator Greg Daniels and writer Paul Lieberstein Rating:7.0/10 (4 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

I very much enjoyed the insight gleamed from Greg Daniels' commentaries on KOTH: Season 1. (He's the next best thing to getting Mike Judge.) And this one is made all the more better by the inclusion of one of the major writers on the first few seasons. They are both entertaining and give lots of behind the scenes secrets away.

My only complaint is that 22 minutes is not enough time, for me anyway; and that Greg only does one commentary. I wish the KOTH DVD producers would follow the lead of The Simpsons DVDs and include a commentary on each episode.
Commentary 2: "Husky Bobby" -- Actors Pamela Segall, Kathy Najimy, and Brittany Murphy (in character as Bobby Hill, Peggy Hill, and Luanne) Rating:4.7/10 (3 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

At times this commentary is funny. Mostly though it is just the three women laughing at the show (apparently they don't watch it). They break character a few times, but on the whole it is another lame listen. And the ending of the show, when Pamela starts getting offended by the fat kids show, is just bizarre.
Commentary 3: "The Man Who Shot Cane Skretteburg" -- Actors Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, and Toby Huss (in character as Dale Gribble, Bill Dauterive, and Cotton Hill) Rating:6.0/10 (4 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

This one is definitely the best of the in-character commentaries for season 2. All have their moments, but it is Toby Huss as Cotton who shines the most--and he (Cotton) is not even in the episode they are commenting on.

The only thing that would make this episode better would be watching it with Adriana Sage.
Commentary 4: "Three Days of the Kahndo" -- Actors Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, and Toby Huss (in character as Dale Gribble, Bill Dauterive, and Kahn) Rating:5.3/10 (3 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

This one is about as funny as the trio's commentary on The Man Who Shot Kane Skrettiburg. They don't break character as much as the women on the other commentaries, but they do take every chance to point out something wrong with the episode: such as how there are no Mexicans to be found in Mexico; the length of Dale's torso at the end; the horrible treatment of Italians...et cetera.

The only problem I find with these is Stephen Root. He is funny most of the time, but for some reason he constantly feels the need to reel the other two in when they go off on some tangent. I really wish he would loosen up.
Commentary 5: "Leanne's Saga" -- Actors Pamela Segall, Kathy Najimy, and Brittany Murphy (in character as Bobby Hill, Peggy Hill, and Luanne) Rating:4.3/10 (3 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

Probably the worst commentary of season 2. There aren't much laughs; mainly the trio stay in character, uttering nonsense about Christmas Trees and such. Pretty boring if you ask me.
