This is the first Cohen track I've listened to, as "The stuff" has so much going on visually that lapses of commentary from the director is forgivable. Much to my delight, Cohen is very generous with anecdotes about making "The Stuff." You hear stories about his ability to cast actors by trolling popular restaurants in New york city, how the special effects were created, and get lots of informative tips about becoming a filmmaker. His approach reflects Woody Allen's style in a way, in that Cohen doesn't storyboard, and generally comes up with shots the day he arrives on location. "Elm Street" buffs will want to listen to hear how the infamous rotating set was used to similar effect. As a satire of consumer culture, "The stuff" is classic, and to hear how the design, and marketing, of this gooey concoction was executed, is wonderful stuff. Track 8/10
