I purchased this DVD on a nostalgia binge. I wanted to recapture the memories of seeing He-man on the big screen when I was 6 years old. Although the film doesn't hold up in my adult eyes, I believe the commentary track has enough nuggets to warrant a listen. Director Goddard spends alot of the track on technical aspects during filming. Limitations from budget constraints to night shooting in Whittier,California are discussed with candor. The director has high praise for Frank Langella's portrayal of skeletor and discusses the issues of bringing his mug to the silver screen. Some interesting tales are told about his regret on lighting issues that affected the translation of the fantastical citizens of Eternia to the real world. Finally, be sure to listen to his encounters with Mattel, who had a big say in the final product. 6 out of 10.
