Right from the beginning, they start to covertly bash the non-director’s cut (or the HBO cut as they call it). Throughout the track, Mr. Wang tells you what shots were cut. Judging by what he says, there seems to be pretty much no character development and very little story in the HBO cut. In any case, this track is hilarious. Everybody rips on everybody else. Kardeem Hardison gets in the best comment, and it’s a jab against himself! The group talks about everything: rehearsals (some of the fights completely threw off Mr. Hardison), how the shots were done (the last shot was not done with a crane), what the original concept of some of the scenes were (the budgets changed a lot of the concepts), and many, many funny stories (which are too many to recount here). They even start talking about the title (I mean, ‘Drive’ has nothing really to do with the movie), but get sidetracked and never come back to it. Mr. Wang also talks a lot of the budgetary concessions. If he’d had a bigger budget, the movie would’ve been more fun, it seems. Everybody gets their chance to talk, which is very nice. Mr. Dacascos talks the least and the director and Mr. Hardison vie many times for the spotlight, but it’s very fun to hear. This track is very entertaining. It’s funny and informative. What more could you ask for?
