Not very entertaining, not very informative, frankly kind of hard to listen to. Woo pretty much lists all of these "I had the idea to...". It's a commentary fitting for the movie, though. Not sure why I spent the time watching the commentary when i wasn't that taken with the movie.

Almost hilarious is Woo's explanation of putting in the white dove towards the end...I can't really say I understand it any better. In fact, I'm not sure Woo even understands it.

More interesting than technically informative. There are a lot of good descriptions of the difference between how Hollywood and Hong Kong films are made, and in effect pointing out all the weakest spots about this film. You can tell what was decided by a marketing committee and what the creative people wanted.

Oddly, Woo seems so disappointed with the film, and points out things that were changed for the worse, that I think I liked the film even less after listening to this.
Commentary 2: Screenwriter Dean Georgaris Rating:5.5/10 (2 votes) [graph]Login to vote or review

Slightly better than Woo's commentary, but a large part of it is narrating the plot. Georgaris does provide a number of interesting tidbits about how the story was developed, either thoughts that led to various aspects, or how he changed the direction of a scene or the whole story.

I suppose if you really like the movie, then these commentaries might be of value to you. Me...that's 4 hours I won't get back. Not sure why I thought they would be a good idea.
