Unless you're a big horror buff, or Stephen King afficionado, you might not know that Director Mick Garris is one of the best "commenters" around. He's always supremely well-prepared, incredibly informed, and just an easygoing person. He never lets more than a few minutes pass without imparting some anecdote or comment upon the listener. This even holds true for the "Shining" and the "Stand" Mini-series on DVD. Garris is good to great for, literally, a dozen hours of content. This 1st track is no different. Mick covers all the bases in the solo effort, from shooting in Canada, to working with animals (an amusing bane of his directing existence), and illustrating all the efx work as it unfolds before the viewer. His grip on the genre is awesome, and I've yet to listen to a track that doesn't deliver. I'm really looking forward to the group effort on the second track. 9/10
Commentary 2:
