A fairly breezy and entertaining trio track from the Director and co-writers. In just 23 minutes they devote much time to the episode playing before you, as well as give lots of background into the creation of "Pete & Pete" as a series. Loads of trivia on both fronts. For example, the name "Wellsville" comes from an obscure indie band called "The Embarrassment," the writer of the episode went on to pen the two "Shrek" films, and the second 'Pete' in the title was once going to be a dog. Thanks to the success of the interstitials (the "60s," as they like to call them) and the "ACE" award-winning "Valentine's Day Massacre" one off, Nickelodeon ordered a full 8 episode slate to start the 1st season. A bit of a "Trojan Horse," to get a series this surreal and odd-ball, with hints of sentimentality drizzled on top, a "green light," was a Miracle (Legion) in of itself. To boot, this track details the awkward "first kiss" between Big Pete (Michael Maronna) and Alison Fanelli's "Ellen." Cool track, for fans of indie music, and "P & P." 8/10

The commentary for "Nightcrawlers" is more scene-specific, with anecdotes about the actual production, and the young actors who attempted to set the world record for sleeplessness. Nice that an episode gave Mom (Judy Grafe) a chance to shine, along with guest stars like (future indie-darling) Heather Matarazzo. Filming took place in Leonia, New Jersey, the International Adult Conspiracy made its' 1st appearance, and the Co-creators tease out the real indecipherable second verse from "Hey Sandy." I guess I should save anyone the time, and spoil the fact that the meaning remains a mystery. Fun and entertaining. 7/10
