Among his written work is a Karloff biography, so Mank is probably happy as a clam doing this commentary. Some of the info is a bit too particular - he's obviously had access to call sheets from way back when the film was made - and it isn't necessary to go into thumbnail filmographies of practically everyone whose face shows up on the screen. But there's some insight into Karloff the actor (at least in regards to this film) and there's even some historical perspective about how the public viewed the electric chair. This film is only about an hour long, and Mank has a pleasant speaking manner, all of which adds up to tidy little track.
