I am not too surprised no one has reviewed this before. When Frears does talk, he usually says something interesting about the motivation for the actors, or the backstory, or why he did something the way he did. But the commentary is unfortunately very sparse for most of the film.
There are definitely some highlights, like when he points out a scene that he felt went too over the top (when the immigration agents are searching the apartment). Or his surprise at how some of the actors did something in their small roles that got them more screen time. (Especially impressive, considering who the lead of the film is!)
It is hard to recommend because I am not sure if he talks for even 50% of the film, so I wish there was a way to fast forward through the empty moments.
